Mr. Lucas Barry

A trained chemical biologist turned chemical educator, Lucas is motivated by a deep-rooted passion to make chemistry accessible to a broader audience, and to provide opportunities for women and ethnic minorities in STEM as they emerge as young scientists. Born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Lucas became fascinated by the organic chemistry that surrounds us in nature through his high school science courses and wishes to bring that same excitement to students here at Chez Nous. Lucas conferred his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University or Maryland-College Park with Latin Honors in 2022. Lucas is a recent 2024 Master of Science degree recipient from New York University, Graduate School of Arts and Science, where he obtained his formal training in chemical biology and bioorganic chemistry within the Department of Chemistry through his research thesis entitled 'Towards a Peptidomimetic Strategy for Modulation of the ARNT·TACC3 Axis.'
