Principal's Letter

Fall 2023

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to Notre Dame School, Chez Nous, our home and, possibly, yours as well.  As you learn about this place through our school’s website, you will see what makes it special:  the love we have for one another and our passion for learning.  You will have the opportunity to see our facilities: classrooms, library, art room, computer and science labs, and hallways; and you will hear from our students, faculty, and administrators about their Notre Dame experiences.  You will also find information on Notre Dame’s admissions process, academic program, student life, faculty credentials, staff profiles, and alumnae opportunities.  Enjoy the exploration, and I hope you will visit us in person at our Open Houses.

Our theme of the year is friendship.  Notre Dame students, faculty, and staff build bonds that last a lifetime.  The friendships that are made here go beyond acquaintanceships or collegiality – they are special relationships that are built on trust, loyalty, and understanding.

We are blessed to call the city our extended campus with its history and rich culture–there is always something new to learn.  Students are able to explore museums, parks, markets, and libraries, such as the Little Island, the High Line, and the Whitney and Ruben museums because we have such great institutions on our doorstep and public transportation at our fingertips.

I am fortunate to serve my Notre Dame family.  I enter the school daily with great joy because home is where the heart is.  In collaboration with a dedicated faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees, Notre Dame offers our students a rigorous education in a nurturing environment.  We strive to ensure our founder Anne de Xainctonge’s lamp continues to light the lives of our students through her mission and values.

Thank you for your time and interest, and I hope someday soon to welcome you in person to the Chez Nous family.
