Anne de Xainctonge’s little lamp was carried across the ocean from France in 1901 by three Sisters of St. Ursula, and continues to shine brightly on West 13th Street, having traveled among Notre Dame School’s various New York City homes.
Our 100th Anniversary edition of Encore Chez Nous tells the story of ND through the memories of devoted alumnae who span the century. Common themes emerge in their writing, including a sense of belonging to the chez nous family, a genuine love of learning, a profound gratitude for the gifts we are given, and a strong faith in God, who knows us each by name.
